Marem Hassler

A Swiss-Trinidadian mix, Marem was born and raised in Switzerland where she studied law and theatre. She comes from a filmmaking and music family and speaks five languages.

She began her music career as a lyricist, songwriter and recording artist. Her success in music brought her to England, where was signed with Steve Mac one of Britain’s top Pop producers. During that time, she traveled the world writing songs with and for leading producers and talent in the Pop industry. She founded her own production company with partner Roberto Meola, Benjamin’s Hat, which produced two albums, film scores, commercial jingles, in addition to collaborations with Morgan Heritage, one of Reggae’s royal families.

At that point her acting career took off and she established herself as a strong actress in England on international TV shows and becoming a recognizable face in worldwide commercials.

Being exposed at very early age to filmmaking, she continues to define her own style both in filming and editing. Her love for telling stories through the moving image progressed into directing.

She moved to New York to deepen her work as an actor/director, where she met and collaborated with partner, Andrea Goldman and Viscus Film was born. She continues to work as a producer, actor/director and writer in Los Angeles, which is the home of Viscus Film.
